T-Mobile Galaxy Tab Gets Hacked to Make Phone Calls

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab is a greatly hyped Android 2.2 powered tablet that many have said will be the main competitor to the iPad. However, others have said the two can not properly be compared as the Galaxy Tab features a much smaller form factor than the iPad meaning they could, in theory, have different uses.
Whatever the case may be, the Galaxy Tab has its own respective niche apart from the iPad as it features a front facing camera and, of course, Google’s Android mobile operating system. However, where as the iPad is solely a tablet, the Galaxy Tab is much more similar to a traditional smartphone – overseas, anyways.
The reason I say this is because the international version of the Galaxy Tab is actually capable of making phone calls whereas the American version is not. Luckily, the skilled folk over at XDA developers have managed to hack the T-Mobile Galaxy Tab and make it capable of making phone calls. Unfortunately, those behind the hack say that it’s for “experience flashers only” so only those who know what they are doing need apply.
